RULES FOR eBIKES ON USFS LANDS
IN CENTRAL OREGON
The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) has set the national rule that e-bikes are NOT allowed on U.S. Forest Service lands that are managed for non-motorized use. These include Phil’s Trail Complex, Wanoga Complex, Swampy’s, Dutchman, Horse Butte, Maston, Peterson Ridge and those in the high country. If you have an e-bike, we have some routes on our eBike Trails page just for you.
Please be aware that these rules are set by the The U.S. Forest Service (USFS), not the Central Oregon Trail Alliance (COTA). COTA educates riders on the rules as part of its agreement with the USFS and does not create the rules or enforce them. If you are for or against e-bikes on USFS trails and have an opinion, please direct your comments to the USFS. Please don’t shoot the messenger who also maintains the trails we all love to ride.
Thank you for your cooperation.
