Hutch’s Bicycles, Central Oregon’s #1 bicycle store, is seeking highly-qualified motivated sales people and experienced bicycle mechanics. We’re a fast-paced retail environment focusing on positive customer experiences.
Successful candidates for both positions will have the following:
Previous bicycle retail experience
Ability to work well as part of a team
Passion for cycling
Excellent customer service skills
Attention to detail
Capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn new things
Basic computer skills
Cheerful attitude when interacting with customers and employees
Sales duties will include but are not limited to:
- Learn product line and be effective with presenting and selling the product line
Accurately assess customer's needs and strive to meet those needs
Handle payment transactions using our point-of-sales system
Prepare bicycle rentals using our online rental reservation system
Transfer inventory between stores and our warehouse
Manage layaway product
Create special orders
Follow-up with customers when an order has arrived
Perform cleaning and organizing duties during working hours
Communicate ideas to improve sales
Bike Mechanic
Mechanic duties and requirements include but are not limited to:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a professional bicycle mechanic
Attention to detail when doing bike builds and service write-ups
Knowledge of and experience with major brands and current component compatibility
The ability to diagnose and fix mechanical issues with all types of bicycles
Confidently bleed brakes and service suspension
The ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
Communicate ideas to improve service
